He was quite upfront about his technique - #16-18 Pheasant Tail matching the nymphs he was shuffling up. I did some web searches and came up with San Juan Shuffle, Colorado skip, Montana drag.<br /><br />I no doubt was not having a great day fishing; After two days of rain the water was as high as I had ever seen it. But I wasn't about to resort to disturbing the bottom of the stream just to attract a few more fish.<br /><br />After corresponding with Bill Edrington of Royal Gorge Anglers (<a href="http://www.royalgorgeanglers.com/" target="_blank">www.royalgorgeanglers.com</a>) I found that while not illegal this practice is discouraged a unethical.
